CharCoat CC has now been tested and approved by KERI – Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute in compliance with IEC Standards for a Cable Temperature Rise Test and has been given another certification as a Non-Derating Coating for electrical cable.
This truly shows that CharCoat CC is a one-of-a-kind Coating for the protection of electrical cable(s). Although CharCoat did a similar test several years ago with Factory Mutual under FM3971:1990, it is always good to revisit some tests to re-classify and re-verify our CharCoat CC.
“Apart from a client request, we were happy to complete a similar test to FM3971, as FM Global has changed the format of their original test to only an energy based fire test and has now deleted the ampacity, saltwater immersion, ageing and weathering portion”. said Sean Ritchie, Director and Founder of CharCoat. “so now any FM3971 approved product can derate a cable,” added Sean.
