October 20th, 2024 – Vancouver, Canada – CharCoat Passive Fire Protection Inc., the global leader in Fire Protection, specializing in Electrical Cable fire protection, structural steel fire protection and insulation coatings, is extremely proud to announce that we have finalized the supply of CharCoat CC Cable Coating to Masjid al-Haram also known as the Sacred Mosque or the Great Mosque of Makkah (Mecca) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Kilometers of MV and HV cable have been protected in the cable and access tunnels below the Great Mosque with up to 40,000 litres of CharCoat CC Cable Coating protecting the cable system. In applying the CharCoat CC, these cables are now protected from any flame spread while protecting the ampacity and fireproofing the cables for 90 minutes under IEC 60331-11 and IEC 60331-21.
The Charcoat CC Cable Coating works are being completed by Tayyib Al-Hayah Commercial Co. located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
