CharCoat IS cures upon exposure to atmospheric conditions, forming a flexible seal that accommodates joint movement. When exposed to fire, the sealant undergoes thermal activation at around 180°C, expanding to create a robust, intumescent char that blocks the passage of fire, smoke, and toxic gases for up to 4 hours. Its high sound insulation properties further enhance its suitability for fire-rated walls and floors. The product can be used with backing materials like stone wool to optimize performance and reduce shrinkage during curing.
