What is CharCoat JF? (Overview)

CharCoat JF is a two-component, 100% epoxy-based intumescent coating designed to protect structural steel, vessels, piping, actuators, valves, from cellulosic and hydrocarbon fires, including high-intensity jet fires. Engineered for extreme environments, it ensures functional integrity under severe fire conditions. Its solvent-free formulation and robust fire resistance make it ideal for demanding applications in oil and gas, power, and industrial sectors.

Core Technology: Intumescent epoxy that expands under heat to form a protective char, combined with a durable, solvent-free matrix for enhanced fire resistance.

How It Works

CharCoat JF activates when exposed to fire, rapidly forming a thick, insulating char that shields substrates from extreme temperatures, including jet fires reaching up to 1300°C as per ISO 22899-1. Its 100% epoxy composition ensures strong adhesion and durability, even in harsh environments. The coating can be applied via airless spray or casting for complex geometries, offering versatile protection without compromising asset functionality.
